Import Merchandiser

Manchester Central

Office based role (No Hybrid)

Salary dependant on experience £30k-£34k

Our client is seeking an Import Merchandiser to join there busy merchandising team! you will be proactive and highly organised you will thrive on the challenge of being part of a busy, fast moving department, working in closely with Account Managers, Designers and Garment Technologists as well as with factories in the Far East.

  • Effective management of the critical in path in order to ensure timely deliveries of placed orders

  • Lab dip, strike off and size spec approvals

  • Price negotiations with factories

  • Daily liaison with off-shore sources, predominantly in the Far East

  • Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them updated from order placement through to bulk production and final delivery

  • Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills are essential

  • You will be an Import Merchandiser with approx 3 years plus UK experience and have a background in supply of fashion.

Menswear Designer

Manchester City Centre – Office based ( no hybrid )

Menswear Designer

Having launched in 2020 this brand group is experiencing rapid growth and is now looking for a new multi-product apparel designer with relevant industry experience to join the team.

The designer for this brand must have an in-depth knowledge in multi-product apparel design across all categories. They must be comfortable developing new shapes and leading fits, working closely with the product development team. Strong graphic design skills are also required, as well an understanding how to apply graphics to apparel through print techniques, applications, fabric and trim development.

You will produce and present relevant market research, current trends and inspiration and with guidance from the Head of Design translate this into commercial collections. Identifying new key trends that are relevant for the brand is a key part of the role. Experience in garment construction is equally important as is an interest in streetwear culture. You will be reporting into the Head of Design working closely with a team of designers, product developers and brand directors.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research new colours, trims and fabrics, producing mood boards
  • Produce sketches, technical drawings and tech packs in adobe illustrator with a high attention to detail
  • Confidently present in front of brand directors
  • Handover tech packs to the product development team, ensuring that key design details are translated
  • Ensure key deadlines are met

Experience Required

  • Ability and know how to create exciting multi product seasonal collections in line with research and direction provided, from concept through to production
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of current and past streetwear trends
  • Ideally educated to a degree level in fashion design
  • Immersed in style and culture
  • Excellent time management skills

Mid Weight Activewear Designer – Menswear

Manchester City Centre – Office based role ( No hybrid )

Mid Weight Activewear Designer

This role is based on-site Full time in Central Manchester.

This brand has established itself in the outdoor market through both wholesale and DTC channels and is now going through a period of exceptional growth. In order to facilitate this, a new designer with relevant industry experience is required to support the team.

The designer for this brand must have experience working on activewear with an excellent understanding of colour, fabric and construction. You will bring newness and design vision to each collection, as well as understanding the commercial needs of the business.

Your role will be to produce inspiration research, design into both seasonal and SMU collections creating detailed tech packs across jersey, woven and outerwear. You will be reporting into the Head of Design working closely with a team of designers and product developers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Research new colours, trims and fabrics, producing mood boards
  • Generate seasonal trip and trend reports
  • Design exciting seasonal collections in line with research and direction provided
  • Work with key accounts on SMU packs
  • Produce sketches, technical drawings and tech packs in adobe illustrator with a high attention to detail
  • Handover tech packs to the product development team, ensuring that key design details are translated.
  • Liase with the product development team on the fit of samples
  • Mentor junior members of the team, and assist senior members of the team as required

Experience Required

 

  • 2 years minimum experience working for a sports brand
  • A thorough understanding of the activewear and outdoor wear market
  • Have a portfolio demonstrating work relevant for this role
  • Strong working knowledge of the adobe suite is essential
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong team player

Experienced Streetwear Designer Menswear

Streetwear Designer

Having launched in 2023 this brand is experiencing rapid growth and in order to facilitate this, a new designer with relevant industry experience is required to support the team.

The designer for this brand must have an in depth knowledge in fabric, colour and trims across multi product including jersey, woven and outerwear. The design process for this role is very much collaborative,  previous experience working on collaborations and with music artists would be preferred.

Your role will be to produce and follow supplied inspiration with the ability to translate this into commercial collections. You will be reporting into the Head of Design working closely with a team of designers and product developers.

Job Title: Knitwear Fashion Designer

Responsibilities:

  1. Design Conceptualisation: Develop innovative and creative knitwear design concepts aligned with current fashion trends.

  2. Material Selection: Source and select appropriate yarns and materials for knitwear, considering quality, cost, and sustainability.

  3. Technical Drawings: Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for production, ensuring accurate communication with manufacturers.

  4. Pattern Development: Design and create knitwear patterns, considering garment structure, fit, and aesthetics.

  5. Prototype Oversight: Collaborate with production teams to oversee the creation of prototypes, ensuring they align with the design vision.
