Product Designer

Ideal background for candidate would be Product Developer, Garment Technologist, Pattern Experience.

Location Cheshire West – Commutable from Cheshire, Merseyside, South Manchester, North Wales and Shropshire region.

This is not a Pure Design Role.

Salary – Dependant on experience

Job Summary

This role reports to a Principal Product Designer for a specific class of products. It is focused on executing and coordinating product design tasks as part of a wider design team. This may include developing and using specialist garment design skills

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Analysis of customer requirements
  • Development of design concepts using CAD/ CAM (Gerber & AutoCAD)
  • Create detailed design drawings using AutoCAD and photography
  • Participation in design reviews and customer meetings
  • Preparation of design documentation
  • Support manufacturing sites through New Product Introduction activities
  • Research materials, processes, or market requirements
  • Support prototype development working closely with machinists
  • Provide customer support as required throughout the development process
  • Support testing events, on-site and off-site
  • Occasional travel to support business requirements
  • Make presentations to present design ideas and concepts.

Garment Technologist

Salary: The salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

Location: Manchester

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Garment Technologist to join our clients team. The Garment Technologist will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and safety. The successful candidate will work closely with our design and production teams to ensure that products are developed and produced efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the design team to ensure that all products meet the required quality standards.
  • Develop technical specifications and review sample garments to ensure that they meet the required quality standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure that materials and components meet our quality standards.
  • Ensure that all products meet safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure that products are developed and produced efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to patterns and samples to ensure that garments fit correctly.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure that products are produced to the required quality standards.
  • Manage and maintain product testing records and report results to the relevant teams.
  • Continuously review and improve product development and production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Garment Technologist, preferably in the apparel industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of garment construction techniques and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of fabric properties and testing methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office .

Import Merchandiser

Manchester ( Hybrid Role )

Competitive Salary

Permanent, Full Time

To ensure that products meet the required delivery and agreed gross margin while maintaining quality and safety standards by providing administrative support to the Account Manager to ensure the critical path is maintained.

Job Duties:

Attend Handover meetings

Check lab dips/strike offs and bulk fabric submissions and send to the customer for approval. 

Be able to raise and amend orders on the internal system and notify country offices / factories as required.

Input data into the internal shipping spreadsheet for the production and warehousing departments.

Manage Customer and Licensor approvals to meet critical path.

Upon receipt of the contract from the customer, report any discrepancies to the Account Manager and once approved, notify the country offices / factories.  

Ensure correct critical path and summary is sent to the customer as required.

Complete customer packaging requirements and send to factory.

Check licensor approvals and upload onto the system. 

Liaise with the Licensing co-ordinator regarding the development and approval of licensor packaging.

To ensure all paperwork is kept up to date and filed accordingly.

Arrange and lead customer pre-production meetings

Gold Seal checking procedure – work with the Gmt Tech to ensure gold seals are correct and authorise shipment of goods.

Co-ordinate the checking and approval of invoices and packing lists and giving the authorisation to accounts for payment. 

Update the containers on the water spread sheet

Work with the customer and 3rd Party warehouse to ensure the goods are booked and delivered as per agreed dates. 

Dispatch goods off the system once dispatched by the warehouse.

Complete weekly dispatch report for your accounts and send to Production & Sourcing Director each Monday by 9am.

Ensure that all P/O’s and S/O are closed down once complete. 

Observe all Company Rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Company Policies particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Harassment, Disciplinary and ICT Security.

To identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility.

Import Merchandiser

Manchester

Salary – c£25k dependant on experience

Our client is seeking an Import Merchandiser to join there busy merchandising team! you will be proactive and highly organised you will thrive on the challenge of being part of a busy, fast moving department, working in closely with Account Managers. designers and Garment Technologists as well as with factories in the Far East.

  • Effective management of the critical in path in order to ensure timely deliveries of placed orders

  • Lab dip, strike off and size spec approvals

  • Price negotiations with factories

  • Daily liaison with off-shore sources, predominantly in the Far East

  • Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them updated from order placement through to bulk production and final delivery

  • Excellent organisational, communication and IT skills are essential

  • You will be an Import Merchandiser with approx 3 years plus experience and have a background in supply of fashion.
